I am a dedicated and versatile leader with over 15 years of experience in both technical and business management roles. With a solid academic foundation in Civil Engineering, Business Administration (MBA), Management (MSc), and Arts in E-commerce (MA), I’ve developed a unique ability to blend analytical thinking with strategic vision, creating value and driving sustainable growth in every organization I work with. My professional journey has been marked by an unwavering commitment to excellence, continuous learning, and fostering collaborative environments.

Currently, I serve as the Deputy Director at FATUM, a prominent local insurance company. In this role, I share responsibility for overseeing the Sales, Business Development, and Marketing departments, supporting the company in consistently meeting and exceeding both client and organizational expectations. I am passionate about identifying new opportunities for growth, enhancing our customer experience, and staying ahead of industry trends. My team-oriented approach and proactive mindset have allowed me to build strong relationships across departments and with external stakeholders, ultimately contributing to the company’s success.

At the heart of my leadership style is the belief that great leadership is about impact, influence, and empowering others to reach their potential. I focus on creating a culture of trust, accountability, and transparency, where individuals feel supported to challenge the status quo and take ownership of their work. I believe that the best results come from fostering an environment where innovation thrives and where every team member is encouraged to share their unique perspectives and ideas.

My career path has allowed me to wear many hats, from technical roles in engineering to strategic positions in business development. Until 2016, I served as Technical Director at NAMECO, where I was jointly responsible for several of Suriname’s largest infrastructure projects. This experience has made me adept at bridging the gap between complex technical concepts and business objectives. I thrive in fast-paced environments, managing multiple projects simultaneously, and delivering results that align with both short-term and long-term goals. I am always looking for ways to improve processes, streamline operations, and drive efficiencies that contribute to both immediate and future success.

Beyond my professional life, I am deeply committed to personal growth and giving back to the community. As a member of Junior Chamber International (JCI), I’ve held leadership roles that have honed my skills in communication, networking, and social responsibility. Leadership goes beyond the boardroom; it’s about making a difference in the communities we live in, and this mindset drives my involvement in initiatives that bring positive change and inspire others to take action.

Outside of work and community service, I am an avid football player and active member of three local teams: Los Amigos (Vice Chairman), Sport Maakt Vrienden (Treasurer), and Friends and Family Together (FFT). Football has taught me the importance of teamwork, discipline, and resilience—qualities that I carry into all aspects of my life, both personal and professional.
