As a passionate leader with a background in Civil Engineering and Business Administration, I bring over 15 years of experience in driving growth, innovation, and teamwork. Currently serving as the Deputy Director oat FATUM, I strive to inspire others through a blend of strategic thinking, hands-on management, and a focus on delivering results. With a commitment to integrity, collaboration, and continuous improvement, I aim to create lasting impact both within my organization and the communities I serve.

Community Engagement and Professional Contributions

Beyond my professional career, I am deeply committed to community engagement, sports, and professional development. These activities have not only enriched my personal life but have also allowed me to contribute meaningfully to the communities and organizations I am part of.

My passion for football (soccer) has led me to take on active roles in several local clubs. As a member and vice chair of FC Los Amigos, I am responsible for the administrative and organizational aspects of the club, ensuring smooth operations and effective communication among members. Additionally, I serve as the treasurer of Sport Maakt Vrienden, where I manage the club’s finances, ensuring transparency and accountability. These roles have allowed me to foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and community spirit, while also honing my skills in leadership and organization.

In the realm of professional development, I am an active member of VSB Young Management, a platform that brings together young professionals to share insights, develop leadership skills, and drive innovation. Through this network, I have participated in various training programs and networking events, which have enhanced my management capabilities and expanded my professional horizons.

Professionally, I am proud to serve as Deputy Director of Commerce at FATUM, one of Suriname’s most trusted insurance companies with more than 140 years of history. In this role I lead multiple departments — Sales, Relationship Management, Marketing, Business Development, and General Affairs — with a focus on sustainable growth, customer satisfaction, and team development. My work is guided by integrity, innovation, and a strong belief in the value of human capital.

Alongside this, I am a legally sworn broker and GLIS-registered appraiser, with prior experience in real estate valuation and consultancy. In 2018, I founded SERWAN TAXATIE & CONSULTANCY N.V. (SeT&C N.V.), a company dedicated to reliable and client-focused appraisal services. These activities are currently on hold due to my role at FATUM, where independence and impartiality are essential.
