What is JCI?

Junior Chamber International (JCI) is a global network of young active citizens aged 18 to 40 who are committed to creating positive change in their communities. JCI provides a platform for young professionals to develop leadership skills, social responsibility, and entrepreneurship through local and international projects, training programs, and networking opportunities. With a presence in over 100 countries, JCI empowers its members to take on leadership roles, drive community initiatives, and grow both personally and professionally.

My JCI Journey

My involvement with JCI has been a transformative experience, allowing me to grow as a leader, contribute to my community, and connect with like-minded individuals. Over the years, I have taken on various roles within JCI Urban, each of which has helped me develop key competencies and make a meaningful impact. Below is an overview of my JCI career, highlighting my roles, achievements, and the skills I’ve gained.

Roles and Contributions

• January 2025 – December 2025
  Local Vice President

  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Serving as the right-hand of the Local President, supporting the overall operations of JCI Urban.

    • Overseeing the execution of strategic initiatives and ensuring alignment with JCI’s mission and values.

    • Leading team collaboration and fostering a culture of innovation and inclusivity.

  • Key Achievements:

    • Played a pivotal role in launching community development projects aimed at empowering youth in Paramaribo and Wanica.

    • Strengthened partnerships with local organizations to amplify JCI Urban’s impact.

  Director of Verification

  • Key Responsibilities:

    • Ensuring financial transparency and accountability within JCI Urban.

    • Supporting the treasury team in budget planning and financial management.
